It’s a good day to be a Microsoft Lumia owner in India today, as the Redmond giant has just announced it is sending out an update to select Lumia models in the country that will end up enabling 4G LTE support on those models.

The list of devices includes the Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320, Lumia 1020, Lumia 930, Lumia 925, Lumia 920, Lumia 830 and Lumia 625, as reported by NPU.

So, if you are the owner of any of these phones, you should go ahead and check Settings> Phone update> Check to see if the update has arrived. Or you can wait for the notification to pop up on your device.

Once the update has been installed on the handset, go to Settings>Mobile+SIM in order to enable 4G if your provider offers that.

Nokia (Microsoft Mobile) has packed Lumia devices with penta-band LTE support, although for some reason, until now, Lumia devices sold in India had LTE support deactivated.

Owners of the Lumia models mentioned above have been hoping to receive an update that would enable LTE support, and Microsoft has finally listened to the consumers’ demands and unleashed the OTA update.

Take into account that some models might receive the update sooner than others.
