Xbox Music application inside Windows Phone 8.1 has been updated numerous times, but it's still not on par with other music apps available on other mobile platforms.

In fact, since Microsoft split the media app on Windows Phone into Music and Video, the user experience dropped considerably.

Even though the Redmond-based company promised to deliver updates frequently, they have a lot to work to bring Xbox Music and Video apps to a decent level.

Nevertheless, any new update that gets released brings these apps one step closer to fulfilling all the requests coming from Windows Phone users.

The latest update for Music on Windows Phone 8.1 adds two new features that are meant to improve the user experience. The first one allows users to remove an item from their Recent plays.

The second new feature provides users with the option to manually sync the application whenever they like from the Settings menu.

No other changes have been included in the update, but we expect new versions of the app to be released next month so stay tuned.

You can now download Xbox Music for Windows Phone 2.6.677.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1.
