The debate around Qualcomm's Snapdragon 815 chipset will be over once the company releases its next chipset, which might happen sooner than we expected.

The Snapdragon 815 is Qualcomm's next take on a SoC (system on chip) and is expected to arrive on the market in the coming months.

The chipset has already been tested in benchmarks, even though it hasn't been made available on the market. Qualcomm wanted to compare the new chipset's performance against its previous models, Snapdragon 801 and Snapdragon 810.

The folks over at STJSGadgets have been given access to some screenshots that provide us with some benchmark results of the Snapdragon 815 in comparison with the other two.

The tests Qualcomm ran to show how fast and cool Snapdragon 815 is over its previous chipsets were made while playing Asphalt 8 Airborne, a very demanding mobile game made by Gameloft.

As we can see from the screenshot attached, Snapdragon 815 is much cooler than both Snapdragon 801 and Snapdragon 810 chipsets.

According to the cited source, the test were run using the following specs: 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display and 3GB of RAM.

All three devices were specifically built for these tests, so some functions were disabled or missing, including Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.
