The smartphone only went on sale in Korea

Some of you might remember that Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 LTE-A exclusively on the Korean market some time ago.

The device isn't just unique because you couldn't get it anywhere else, but also as it was the first to come equipped with a quad HD display and Snapdragon 805 breathing life into it.

Basically, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A was a concept device meant to test the world’s reaction to a quad HD handset, before Sammy actually starts rolling out such a smartphone for its wider consumer-base.

Even if the smartphone’s availability is a pretty limited one, it doesn't mean Samsung is not treating it like one of its children.

And according to Sam Mobile, the Korean tech giant has begun testing the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop variant for this particular model.

While the Galaxy S5 has started receiving Lollipop 5.0 and other Samsung handsets are expected to start grabbing the release soon, it’s the first we've heard about a Samsung device playing with Android 5.0.1.

The build appears to be quite stable, so we should expect Samsung to start rolling it out to consumers in Korea in the upcoming weeks.

If you’re curious to see what the Lollipop will look like on the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, take a look at one of our earlier stories to get an idea.
