The Sony Xperia Z4 is shaping up to be quite interesting

Sony is prepping a new flagship device that is due to be unleashed in the upcoming months, and we've already seen and heard quite a few details about the unannounced model.

But the recent hearsay would have us believe that the Sony Xperia Z4 will not only have a metal frame but a full metal body in the vein of the recently launched Huawei P8. All metal-clad flagships are becoming more common these days, so no surprise here.

The leak also provides us with a more exciting piece of information. Apparently, Sony is going to put a fingerprint scanner on board its next flagship, which seems in line with what most top-tier devices are offering these days.

However, there’s a tweak. According to the source, Sony is going to place the fingerprint scanner in an unorthodox position. So we won’t find it on the back or embedded in the home button, but in the power key.

Hopefully, Sony can pull this up, because the setup seems quite complicated and the power key a tad too small to accommodate a full fingerprint, given that its devices are so sleek.

A phone with a fingerprint scanner in the lock key already exists. We’re talking about the Saygus V-Squared.

Sony’s Z4 flagship should make a debut either on April 20 or sometime later this year at the IFA 2015 Expo in Berlin.
