Sony is not done releasing Xperia Z4 variations

Sony announced the Xperia Z4 a few days ago without much fuss, but it soon became apparent why that was the case. It's because the flagship will apparently go on sale only in Japan and Sony is prepping yet another flagship to be launched globally sometime in May.

Well, it appears Sony will also be rolling out an Xperia Z4 Compact and a Z4 Ultra, although information about these two models is pretty scarce.

Today, the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact gets all but confirmed. The phone has been spotted in a leaked accessory catalog for the spring/summer portfolio of NTT DoCoMo in Japan (as seen at Mobil Telefon).

Specifications related to the model are pretty shady for the time being, but we do expect Sony to pack quite a lot under the hood of this tiny device.

The Xperia Z3 Compact launched last year with a 4.6-inch display and 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 under the hood, 2GB of RAM, plus 16GB of internal storage (microSD card slot available).

The mini device is pretty impressive in the camera department, boasting a 20.7MP main CMOS sensor with autofocus and digital image stabilization, while up in front lies a 2.2MP camera for selfie shooting.

So we expect the Xperia Z4 Compact to be decently specced, just as last year’s model.
