The new version is already available in Windows Phone Store

Good news for those using Xbox Video application on their Windows Phone 8.1 devices, as Microsoft has just released a new version in Windows Phone Store.

Although it may look that Microsoft is very busy with Windows 10 for Phones, the Xbox Team is hard at work on patching the long list of bugs affecting the Video application.

In the newest patch, Xbox Video received only a few improvements, but anything that is meant to enhance the user experience is more than welcomed so here it is.

First of all, the cached thumbnails for videos will be consistently cleaned up, thus freeing up storage space. Another improvement introduced in this update would be the fact that Microsoft will have greater control over the timing of the release of new movies and television episodes.

These are the only additions to the Xbox Video application included in the newest version, but Microsoft promises that more updates will brings bug fixes and improvements. So, continue to send your feedback to Microsoft for a much better Xbox Video application.

Xbox Video for Windows Phone 8.1 is now available for download via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that this version will only work on devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1.
