Microsoft promised Lumia Denim update will be released to all compatible smartphones in the first quarter of 2015. Even though we still have a bit more than a month left of this quarter, many Lumia owners have yet to receive the update.

India is one of Microsoft’s important Windows Phone markets, but only when it comes to the budget-friendly segment. This is probably one of the reasons Microsoft released Lumia Denim for the low-end Lumia 520, 525 and 620 smartphones first.

The good news is those who decided to go for a much more expensive Windows Phone handset, like the Lumia 1020, can now download and install the Lumia Denim update as well, WMPowerUser reports.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a few days until it reaches all Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphones in India.

Most of the important new features and improvements that Lumia Denim will bring to Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphones are related to its PureView camera.

Lumia Denim has yet to arrive at many carriers around the world, which seem to take their time testing the update before making it available to their customers.

In any case, Microsoft should finish with the rollout of the Lumia Denim by the time it starts seeding Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 update, or any other update for that matter.
