The latest software version fixes voice over LTE

Motorola DROID Turbo has been launched at Verizon last year in October with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system onboard.

Although Motorola confirmed that the smartphone would eventually receive an Android 5.0 Lollipop update sometime this year, Verizon has yet to push the major update.

Since rumors claim Lollipop should arrive on the DROID Turbo pretty soon, we thought the soak test invites from back in January were for the Android 5.0 update.

Fast forward one month and DROID Turbo still lacks Android 5.0 Lollipop, but the good news is an update is still available.

The folks over at Droid-Life report Motorola DROID Turbo is now receiving an update that won't bring new features, but a few fixes.

The new system version 21.44.12 should now arrive OTA (over the air) on the Motorola DROID Turbo. The update is simply supposed to bring Advanced Calling 1.0, according to Verizon Wireless, but it will also fix the VoLTE (voice over LTE) feature.

These are almost all the changes included in this minor update, no Android 5.0 Lollipop for DROID Turbo yet. Hopefully, the next update will be the long-awaited Lollipop upgrade. Stay tuned for more updates on Lollipop updates for more smartphones.
