The official release of the update can't be far away

Google is expected to launch a new version of Android soon, which is supposed to fix some of the issues Lollipop users have been complaining about since its release.

Android 5.1 Lollipop has already been spotted on some Android One smartphones launched in Asia recently but has yet to be released on Nexus smartphones and tablets.

It looks like Nexus users won't have to wait too long for the Android 5.1 Lollipop to arrive on their phones. The folks over at TechTastic have just spotted the Nexus 5 running the new, unreleased yet, Android 5.1 Lollipop at Geekbench.

The benchmark has been uploaded on February 16, so it's very recent. Android 5.1 Lollipop will bring some minor tweaks, aside from the long-expected bug fixes.

Android 5.1 Lollipop won't be focusing on new features too much, so don't expect them on your devices when the update gets released.

While we don't have any details on when exactly Android 5.1 Lollipop will be released, at least thanks to the current leak we have an indication that Google is almost finished with the update.

We'll be keeping an eye out for any additional info on the matter and will update this post as soon as Google makes any announcements, so stay tuned.
