OnePlus One still ships with Cyanogen custom ROM

As we’ve told you earlier, OnePlus is getting ready to unveil its own custom ROM that’s to be called OxygenOS on February 12.

OnePlus is not mourning the break from Cyanogen, that went on to establish an exclusive partnership with Indian device maker Micromax, but it’s pushing things along to get a fresh start.

As part of this strategy, the device maker has also removed Cyanogen’s brand from the backs of its most recent batch of handsets (as seen on Google Plus).

The international model of OnePlus One still ships out with Cyanogen’s custom ROM on top, but by removing the logo, the Chinese smartphone maker wants to highlight its commitment to its upcoming OxyenOS platform.

The company is also working on its next-gen flagship, the so-called OnePlus 2 which should make it out in the wild with a 5.5-inch QHD resolution display, a Snapdragon 810 under the hood, combined with 4GB of RAM.

The handset will be powered by a 3,300 mAh battery and will take advantage of Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Sadly for those who were expecting to see the OnePlus 2 sooner rather than later, it appears that the phone has been delayed to Q3 2015.
