The latest software update addresses these problems

We reported in the last couple of weeks about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 overheating issues, one of the many reasons Samsung has decided to go with its in-house Exynos chipset.

Earlier this week, a benchmark published by someone who received a review HTC One M9 unit, showed that HTC's flagship was clearly overheating while certain benchmark apps were running.

Shortly after an HTC official announced that we should disregard these benchmarks because the final version of the software hasn't been released yet.

Now someone from XDA Forums claims his source has just received a software update for its HTC One M9 unit and the changelog mentions “thermal improvements and camera improvements.”

This is quite fortunate for HTC, which recently delayed the launch of One M9 in Taiwan due to these issues. It appears that the phone's temperature runs approx. 9-10℃ lower with the latest software installed.

Since the previous benchmark indicated a 55.4°C temperature for the HTC One M9, let's hope the phone won't go over the 40°C by too much.

We'll be keeping an eye out for more reports on HTC One M9's overheating issues, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter. Also, keep in mind that the flagship smartphone will make its debut on the market this month.
