HTC has been a long-time supporter of the sports event

HTC has been sponsoring the UEFA Champions League for a few years now. And in order to celebrate this year’s final between FC Barcelona and Juventus, the Taiwanese device maker has outed a 24 karat gold version of the HTC One M9.

Not only is the new HTC One M9 coated in gold but it also has the UEFA Champions League logo engraved on its back, plus the name of the two teams fighting for the cup. The June 6 date and the location of the game are also plastered on the rear panel.

However, we expect that HTC will maintain the same specs of the "mainstream" One M9 on the inside.

Naturally, the precious HTC One M9 will be offered in a limited edition package, but we’re not told exactly how many units will be made.

It’s not the first time when HTC launches a limited edition Champions League-themed device. Actually, last year, the manufacturer did the same, offering the previous-gen flagship, the One M8, with a similar setup.

As you can expect, HTC hasn’t offered us any details related to the golden One M9 smartphone, although it’s reasonable to assume that the phone will sport a pretty high-end price tag. It’s plated with 24k gold after all.
