Samsung Galaxy S6 will be the first flagship smartphone announced this year to be available in India. The South Korean company confirms its high-end handset will go on sale beginning April 10 for no less than Rs 49,900 ($800 / €745) outright.

The good news is that Galaxy S6 will soon be joined by HTC's flagship smartphone, the One M9. The Taiwanese handset maker has already sent invitations to a launch event that should take place on April 14, AndroidOS reports.

Although the smartphone will be officially introduced next week, it's unclear whether or not the HTC One M9 will go on sale on the same day. We also don't have any details on pricing options, but we doubt it will be priced lower than the Galaxy S6.

For those out of the loop, HTC One M9 will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box with Sense 7 UI on top.

The smartphone will be equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

HTC has decided to go with the same 5.0-inch full HD (1080p) display that's been embedded into the previous model as well. It's also worth mentioning that the One M9 is powered by a non-removable 2,840 battery.
