Flipboard, that application that many Android users hate because it was forcefully shoved into Samsung's UI, has just received a small but important update on Windows Phone platform.

Although it has arrived long after it was launched on Android, iOS platforms, Flipboard is one of the most popular applications for Windows Phone when it comes to news apps.

Anyway, Microsoft has just announced that the latest Flipboard update brings a new feature called Topics. The new feature will allow Windows Phone users to select which topic they wish to follow.

This means that users can search to find a topic, like for example Technology, Star Wars, Marvel and so on. They can also tap on the topic tags shown on articles.

The new feature will make it easier for users to follow any topic by just taping the “follow” button to have stories from that topic - and from magazines the Flipboard community is curating about that topic - added to their Flipboard.

If you have not yet updated to the latest version, you should check out Flipboard for Windows Phone via Windows Phone Store.

The bad news is the new topics feature is only available for devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1. What's even worse is that it's only available in the US, UK and India.
