Not willing to spend a hefty chunk of money on your next smartphone? Well, look no further than the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 which arrives with strong specs and sells for only $250 / €233.

The OneTouch Idol 3 is offered with a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor under the hood.

In the photography department, the Idol 3 dons a 13MP main camera (Sony IMX214) with f/2.0 aperture, plus an 8MP front selfie snapper with wide-angle view.

Alcatel says we should expect the phone to be made available for pre-order on April 21 for the above mentioned price. The unlocked handset will start shipping this May.

The device maker also throws in 4G LTE, a 2,910 mAh battery, and stereo 1.2 watt front-facing speakers.

A nifty feature you'll be able to take advantage of while using this model is the reversible user interface. This means that it doesn't really matter how you hold the phone because the entire user interface auto-rotates so that you won’t have any problem operating the device even if it's upside down.

There’s also good news on the software front, as the new phone ships out with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. However, don’t hold your breath for seeing Android 5.1 arrive on your phone too soon.
