What will Google call its next Android build?

As you probably know, Google names its Android builds after delicious sweets or treats and following the alphabetical order too.

Android 1.0 was called Alpha, then 2.0 Beta came, after which we saw Android 1.5 Cupcake and other such names until Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 5.0 Lollipop came along.

So if we’re going to take this naming schematic into consideration, Android’s next iteration will have to start with an M.

Designer Vladislav Vitula figured Google might want to call its next Android build Muffin. It’s not a bad name. Actually, we’re pretty big fans of muffins over here. But Vitula not only imaged a name for Google’s next-gen Android, it also created a concept for it.

Thus, Android 6.0 Muffin was envisioned to come complete with new features such as Multi-Window and Quick Reply.

Multi-Window is not something we haven’t seen in the mobile world before. Both Samsung and LG utilize this feature, which is embedded in their proprietary skins (based on Android) to allow users to run two or more apps side by side (at the same time).

Given the fact that more and more device makers are pushing out phablets, multi-tasking would be a nifty feature to have in Android.

As for Quick Reply, this feature would allow users to answer incoming calls or texts right from a notification that appears in the status bar. Apart from that, the overall Material Design feel of the concept is pretty evident and it does look very suited too.
