Duplicate Annihilator for iPhoto For Mac

Duplicate Annihilator for iPhoto is a powerful and intuitive macOS application that enables you to quickly find and remove duplicate files from your iPhoto library with just a couple of mouse clicks.

From Duplicate Annihilator for iPhoto’s main window you can easily scan your library for duplicate files and check the results statistics.

Hence, you can view the number of scanned images, the number of thumbnails found, missing photos, duplicates, corrupt JPGs or faces found and determine how much disk space you can save.

What is more, you can choose between three different detection modes: Magic, Restrictive and Custom. On top of that, you can configure Duplicate Annihilator for iPhoto to shut down your Mac or set it to sleep when the cleaning process is complete.

By accessing the Preferences tab, you can easily customize the detection algorithm by mixing different options. Thus, you can find duplicates by checking their SHA1 checksum, creation date and EXIF creation date, first eight or more characters in the title or file name, width, height or file size.

You can set the process order to Forward or Backward. The Forward method will save the oldest duplicates while the Backward method will keep the most recent duplicates. You can also set the width, height and file size for the thumbnails.

The Action panel offers you a series of options that you can enable or disable with just a few clicks of a mouse button. Consequently, you can move duplicates and thumbnails to Trash, set custom comments for duplicates, originals, thumbnails, missing, faces or corrupts.

You can append to exiting comments instead of replacing them, clear all images’ comments, empty Trash when finished and set spotlight comments.
