PDFKey Pro For Mac

Working with locked PDF documents can be rather counterproductive because you must provide the passkey each time you want to open, copy, or print the included data. PDFKey Pro is a small but powerful Mac app designed to help you bypass these limitations in no time.

The PDFKey Pro user interface is represented by a single window that contains an unlock and a lock icon: simply drag and drop the document you want to process on top of the appropriate area.

Keep in mind that PDFKey Pro is intended to help you when you forgot your document’s passkey, and will not function with DRM protected ebooks.

When unlocking a file, the application will create a copy of the original document, without including the password protection: the original file will not be altered in any way. By default, the output file will be placed in the source folder, but you can easily change that via the Preferences window.

At the same time, if you choose to lock a document, you can set up two passkeys: one for opening the file, and one for printing and copying. In the first case, you can choose between 3 encryption algorithms: RC4 40bit (Adobe Acrobat 3 or later), RC4 128bit (Adobe Acrobat 5 or later), or AES 256bit (Adobe Acrobat X or later).

Moreover, you can decide to allow printing and copying certain parts of the PDF document even without a password. To help you differentiate between the different versions of your documents, PDFKey Pro will add “locked” or “unlocked” suffixes to the output files accordingly.
