At the same time it released iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.1 Beta 2 together with the second beta for Xcode 7.1, Apple also launched the next beta for tvOS, the Apple TV operating system unveiled during the September 9 keynote.

Even though Apple did not publish a list of official changes for the Beta 2 release on the tvOS download page, they have a publicly available release notes page describing the usage conditions for tvOS 9.0 Beta releases.

On this page, Apple mentions that 9.0 Beta releases should only be installed and used on Apple TV devices enrolled in their Developer Program because installing a pre-release on an unauthorized device might make it unusable.

Moreover, they warn that pre-release tvOS versions will automatically deliver anonymized device information to Apple's servers. The data collected this way is used by Apple for enhancing their devices' performance and quality until the launch of the stable release.

However, on Apple TV devices running the tvOS beta version, this behavior can be stopped by disabling the "Send to Apple" option in the Settings > General > Privacy menu.

The tvOS 9.0 Beta 2 is designed to help developers create tvOS applications ready to run on any Apple TV device, and it provides them with the frameworks needed to do it, as well as Apple's Xcode IDE to help them write, compile and build the apps more easily.
