The new version of the OS won't be coming today, but shortly

Today is a good day for iOS users, as Apple released version 9 of its mobile operating system for iPhones and iPads. Although there are some issues with downloading iOS 9 on some devices, we expect these problems to be addressed shortly.

Unfortunately, those who were expecting to be able to update their Apple Watches as well will be disappointed to know that the Cupertino-based company has just announced it was forced to delay the release of WatchOS 2.0.

While Apple has confirmed that WatchOS 2.0 has been postponed and it won't be coming today, the company has yet to announce when exactly users will be able to download the update on their watches.

Apple also shared some details on the reasons behind the delay. It appears that the company's engineers have run into some bugs that are taking longer to address then it was initially believed.

“We have discovered a bug in the development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly,” said Apple in a short statement.

It looks like the bug that Apple mentions was only present in the final version of the software, which had to be released today, otherwise the company's engineers would have fixed it while the beta version of WatchOS 2.0 was still in testing.
