A companion app for your Xbox One gaming console

Microsoft is one of the latest iOS application sellers to fully commit to Apple’s guidelines and offer native GUI support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus resolutions.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s amazing how the biggest tech companies take the most time to implement changes as simple as these. Then again, when people have no choice but to use your solutions, the incentive to appease them can be quite low.

Frustrations aside, yes, the Xbox One SmartGlass has finally received graphical support for the newest Apple smartphones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. This means native support for the high pixel count of these two handsets, and the Retina HD resolution of the Plus in particular.

Throughout the years, developers have had to adjust their apps to several new screen sizes and resolutions. The transition to iPhone 6 has been the easiest of all.

Xbox One SmartGlass version 2.10.1 also gets some under-the-hood bug fixes to make your experience more worthwhile. Some things you can do with the app include controlling your gaming box’s media features using a remote control interface, and browsing the web on your TV.

To download the app, all you need is iOS 7 and a compatible iDevice. It works with iPads too, and it even supports the fifth-generation iPod touch.
