Access and share custom maps made with Google My Maps

iOS customers relying on Google’s services have a new update to download and install today, should they want to upload stuff to their Drive account from third-party apps. A Maps enhancement is in there as well.

The all-new Google Drive 3.4.0 now features the awesome ability to upload content straight to your Drive account when you’re in other apps.

For example, when you’re in your favorite photo editing app and you’ve just put the finishing touches on a new work of art, you can check and see if the share button now includes Google Drive. If you see it, tap it and your image will be whisked to the cloud for you to access on any device, anytime, anywhere, in Google Drive.

A feature common to iOS and Android users, “you can now access and share custom maps you create with Google My Maps,” according to the announcement. The app’s description up on the iTunes Store also mentions “bug fixes and performance improvements,” so if you’re having problems with your current installation of Drive, you should try installing the new version to see if it mends your woes.

All you need to download Google Drive is an iOS 7 device, but to actually use the service you also need a Google account.
