Apple’s wearable mini computer slated to roll out in a few months (possibly no more than two) has been confirmed to pack on-board flash memory chips that will allow users to hold music, photos and apps on their wrists.

The Companion app leaked from iOS 8.2 betas reveals, among other neat things, that the Apple Watch will have a certain amount of storage dedicated to holding media files and applications. This was pretty much a given, considering Apple has already encouraged developers to fire up their Xcodes and start designing apps for the wearable.

In addition to displaying storage information with a breakdown by file type, the Companion app will further show the device serial number, details pertaining to Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, and more.

The wrist-worn Apple gadget is expected to launch this spring. Apple says on its web site that the device will launch in early 2015, which can mean up to the end of May (trimestrially-speaking). Europe and other parts of the world are slated to receive shipments later, with these versions of Apple.com stating “Coming in 2015.” The California tech giant typically rolls out all-new products in the United States first, then the rest of the world.
