Arguably one of the best photography libraries out there, 500px sells and maintains an awesome iOS app that acts as a gateway to the web service. Most recently, it has added a much needed camera function.

The mother lode of all 500px updates, version 2.9 finally brings a feature that should have been there all along: a camera. It sports pro-level settings and controls for things like exposure, focus, and more. The announcement reads:

“For iPhone users, we’ve taken advantage of some of the new features in iOS 8 to bring you our own built-in camera! Featuring exposure compensation and manual focus when you need it as well as a full-auto mode when you don’t, our new camera helps you make the most of your iPhone photography.”

Users further get built-in photo editing by Adobe Creative Cloud, access to all your Adobe Lightroom Mobile photos for uploading directly to 500px, full support for the latest iPhones, 1Password integration, and the usual bag of fixes and performance improvements.

The minimum firmware requirement is now iOS 8, and the app supports all iDevices natively, including iPads. Download 500px 2.9 now and enjoy the new shoot & edit features today. Use our handy QR tool to get to the app in mere seconds.
